Brief updates on the formation of the association, our contact with
Swift, and key milestones. Most recent post first.
Uncertainty around the promised 1% indexation
The 1% indexation promised by Swift as of 1 January 2025 has now
finally been processed and paid out. But... not to all pensioners.
For some of us the payment has been postponed, without any form of
communication, explanation or substantiated reason.
We will ask Swift for a proper explanation, including what this
means in terms of interest loss on the deferred indexation, the
consequences in case of death before the new payment date, and the
basis for the distinction made between groups of pensioners.
We will keep you informed.
Founding committee complete, statutes in preparation
The founding committee is now fully staffed. Three aspiring board
members — chair, treasurer and secretary — are filling these roles
on an interim basis until the first General Members' Meeting
following formal establishment.
The draft statutes will be prepared shortly. Once ready, they will
be shared with prospective members for feedback. The notarial deed
and registration with the Chamber of Commerce will follow, at
which point the formation of the association is officially
complete.
Website launched
vg-swift.nl went live today. The site sets out what the association
stands for: indexation of the insured pension and open communication
with Swift. Former employees can register as interested parties —
formal membership will follow once the association has been
established.
From now on, this page will carry updates on our progress.
Initiative launched
Four former Swift employees, with backgrounds in HR, governance
and works councils, have taken the initiative to form an interest
group for Swift pensioners. The triggers: the absence of
indexation on the insured pension over a number of years, the
absence of any communication from Swift, and the lack of a clear
point of contact within Swift for pensioners.
